Xesol Innovation, finalist of the innovation program Smart Open Lisboa, presents its proposal to improve the mobility of the Portuguese capital alongside the rest of the startups in this final phase.
SOL Mobility is an innovation program in which the future of Lisbon was discussed in terms of mobility. In the third edition, a total of 130 startups were presented. Among all of them, 80 were selected by the innovation hub Beta-i and 24 moved on to the next phase to participate in the bootcamp. Xesol Innovation, with the collaboration of NOS and the Municipal Chamber of Lisbon as its partners, was chosen as one of the 14 finalists to carry out its pilot project.
On November 15, the Demo Day was celebrated in which all the projects presented their results. The space where it took place, the Museu da Carris, contrasted successfully with the technology and innovation that was shared there.
The day was divided into two sections for presentations: on the one hand, Driving the smart movement and, on the other, People on the move; the act was closed by the CEO of Beta-i.
During the next months, Xesol Innovation will install and put into operation the devices that integrate the XStreet technology, which consists of a vehicle and pedestrian traffic monitoring system based on computer vision techniques. Its cameras and artificial intelligence developments allow for a count and discrimination of the different elements analyzed. The purpose will be to provide detailed traffic data to better understand the movement of vehicles and pedestrians at one of the busiest intersections in Lisbon. In addition, it will also gather the increasingly important information on environmental conditions and air quality.
